I’ve been wanting to buy a glass nail file for a while now, because I’m getting tired of replacing my emery boards. I just never got around to actually buying a glass one; and I envied those I saw with them. So, naturally, when Mont Bleu contacted me asking if I would like to review their products (including their glass nail files), I jumped at the chance.
Mont Bleu is a company in the Czech Republic which offers various beauty tools, jewellery, and miscellaneous gifts. Glass-making has been a tradition in the Czech Republic for a long time, and Mont Bleu’s products are high quality; making this company one of the leading glass nail file suppliers in the world. All Swarovski crystal products are also hand-decorated.
Here’s what they sent: a pair of tweezers, a pair of earrings, a pair of matching glass nail files (full and travel sizes), and a glass foot scraper (aka. callus remover).
Austrian Crystal Earrings – I had no idea that they were sending these, but I’m glad they did. These earrings are charming and the cut is beautiful. The Swarovski crystals reflect all different colours as the light hits them. They’re going to be great for the summer! They also have some other really cute earrings on the site.
Swarovski Tweezers – Another unexpected item! These are some beautiful stainless steel, slanted-tip tweezers. They are decorated with some adorable Swarovski crystals. To be honest, I absolutely hate tweezing my eyebrows, so I was dreading trying these out. I usually get my eyebrows waxed, so I haven’t gotten a new pair of tweezers in a while. These are really nice and sharp, and grab the hair tightly so that it only takes one pull, and doesn’t slip off the hair continuously like some others I’ve tried. The slanted tip also allows a lot of accuracy and does a really nice job. This took a ton of time off of tweezing because I spent less time fumbling around with them, and definitely hurt less. If you’re looking for some new (and really cute) tweezers, these are the way to go! I linked to the purple ones in the name because I couldn’t find these orange ones on the site, but they come in a bunch of different colours.
Callus Remover – This is a nice alternative to a pumice stone. It is made of Czech tempered glass. It is quite thick; not too heavy, but strong enough to give your heels and feet a good scrubbing. It really makes your feet so smooth, which we could all use at this time of year; the sandals are coming out! The other awesome thing about this is that it has a lifetime guaruntee on the abrasive surface. It is also more hygienic than other options, because it’s glass; it’s easy to clean and gentle on your feet. Since it is glass, though, so you do have to be a bit more careful with it. I see myself using this a lot from now on; I love having such soft feet!
Swarovski Crystal Nail Files – Last but not least, the nail files! These are made of Czech tempered glass, and are elegantly decorated with Swarovski crystals. Since they are decorated by hand, each will be somewhat unique from what you see on the site. I love how I have a smaller one to take with me if I choose. They both have double-sided abrasive surfaces, and again, a lifetime guaruntee on them. They are more hygienic than emery boards, because they are easily washed. They are much stronger than I expected of glass. You still have to be careful not to drop or break them, and treat them gently, but they feel very long-lasting. The filing surface is high-quality, and doesn’t feel anywhere near as rough as an emery board–it seems like it’s a lot easier on your nails, and does a beautiful, smooth job. I finally got my glass nail files, and I can say that I am never going back to emery boards. These will make great gifts, and I plan on ordering a few more.
I am so happy to have had the opportunity to review these products, and am delighted with all of them. If you are looking for some birthday or holiday gifts (or even something to treat yourself to) check out Mont Bleu here! They even have an option to personalize your gifts here.
Have you ever used glass nile files, and what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
